The Northeast Pennsylvania Manufacturers and Employers Association (MAEA) and the Wilkes-Barre Area Office of the Occupational Safety and Health Administration
(OSHA) announce that they have renewed an Alliance between the two organizations.

Under the Alliance, both organizations have agreed to continue to recognize the value of maintaining a collaborative relationship to foster safer and more
healthful American workplaces. Furthermore, there will be a continued emphasis on providing members and others with information, guidance, and access to training resources that will help manufacturing businesses protect the health and safety of workers and understand the rights of workers and the responsibilities of employers under the Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSH Act). Through the Alliance, both will continue to address worker safety issues and employer safety management issues that impact new employees in the workforce, small business and employees with limited or English as a second language challenges. In renewing the Alliance, OSHA and MAEA recognize that OSHA's State Plan and On-site Construction Project partners are an integral part of the OSHA national effort.

"Making the work environment safer, also makes employees work smarter and be more productive," said MAEA President Darlene J. Robbins.
